Health Fair/Touch a Truck

Standby Request

Along with our emergency services we offer what is referred to as “Health Fairs” or “Touch a Truck” events. These are held in addition to another ongoing event. We will set up and help teach the community about various ways to stay safe, as well as what we do as an organization. Health Fairs are specifically for events where attendees are not expected to receive injuries from the festivities. During these events the ambulance and the crew will not respond to emergencies unless they occur at that event. We can do this by bringing on an extra crew to allow them to remain dedicated to the event for its entirety. Please note that if you would also like to have PD or the Fire Department present, you must make a request with them.

All requests must be made a minimum 2 weeks prior to the event, with a preference of 3-4 weeks before the event.

We can provide what is known as a “standby crew” in addition to our emergency services. We can provide these crews for events that will have a large number of attendees, or events where it’s not uncommon to potentially receive injuries such as certain sports. During these stand by events we can provide either a single EMT or an entire ambulance crew to help with any emergencies that may occur. The crew that covers the event will be solely dedicated to that event, meaning they will not respond to other emergencies that may occur. If an ambulance is requested in a ‘stand by’ role, the crew may end up needing to transport an injured attendee to a local hospital. However if you request a single EMT, this EMT will not transport with the ambulance crew and will remain at the event until it’s conclusion. If you would like to have local PD or the Fire Department there as well, you must make a request with them directly.

All requests must be made a minimum 2 weeks prior to the event, with a preference of 3-4 weeks before the event.
