OUR MISSION

"The mission of the Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad is to help those in need of medical intervention, promote safety, and educate the general public about general health and well-being, in and around the community of South Brunswick. Our members carry out this mission through education and training in emergency care."

WHO WE ARE

Our members come from many walks of life, including students, teachers, full-time employees and retirees who devote their time to aid our community. We are your friends, your neighbors and your family! Young or old, we serve one main purpose: to be there when needed during an emergency.

WHAT WE DO

We provide several services by responding to medical emergencies within South Brunswick, providing mutual aid into neighboring towns, and covering local sporting and community events. We provide pre-hospital life support, quality care, and comfort to every patient we treat.

About Us

The Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad is a volunteer-led 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing the residents and guests of South Brunswick with a professional, courteous, and knowledgeable ambulance crew every time there is a medical emergency.

In 1941, Dave Stewart helped found the MJFAS and became our first Operations Chief. As the town evolved, so too has it’s needs for care. MJFAS was the first agency to provide emergency first aid services in the town of South Brunswick as well as provide services to northern Plainsboro and parts of North Brunswick. Eventually, the MJFAS divided up sections of it’s response area to help facilitate rapid response. As a result, Kendall Park Rescue Squad and Kingston First Aid Squads were formed.

The Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad is committed to healthcare services for its residents, expanding the horizons of community knowledge through layperson medical education and health advocacy, educating emergency personnel, and providing an enjoyable, welcoming environment for its volunteers and staff.

The organization is managed by an elected Board of Executives, and Line Officers. These positions are voted upon every year. The organization provides exceptional patient care to all those in need. In addition, our volunteers dedicate thousands of hours each year providing emergency ambulance coverage to the Township of South Brunswick, ambulance standby coverage to community events, participating in health fairs, school education programs, community classes, food and toy drives, while also providing CPR, First Aid, Bleeding Control and Narcan training.
